Literary & Figurative Terms Review

Are you looking to review literary and figurative terms? This Literary & Figurative Terms Review is something quick for your students or for your substitute plans? This is it!

In this product, you are receiving two engaging literary and figurative language review worksheets. Each worksheet asks the students to answer what figurative or literary device is being used, and then explain how they know this or explain their thinking. In addition, each box is given a specific color, and once the students figure out the answer, they are to color the correct gumball in that color.

This product reviews the figurative terms: simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, allusion, idiom, and oxymoron.

The literary terms reviewed in this product are: protagonist, antagonist, static and dynamic character, man vs. man, man vs. self, man vs. nature, man vs. society, characterization, internal and external conflict, conflict, symbolism, exposition, rising action, and climax.

***I did NOT include a glossary for these terms in this product. In order for your students to be able to complete these activities, they will have to have knowledge of these terms and their definitions. I figured a glossary would not challenge the students if they have definitions in front of them. I would suggest reviewing the terms before giving them these activities.***

Use these Homophones Review Puzzles for students who constantly struggle with choosing the correct homophone. Students use the wrong word, and they make the same mistakes over and over! I know you feel my pain! That is why I created this product; my/our students can review these words in a fun and engaging activity.

The students begin at the start, and they work their way through the sentences, choosing the correct homophone, and coloring their answers. The homophones that are covered in this product are: their/there/they’re, to/two/too, and your/you’re/yours.
