American Flag Acrostic Craftivity

This American Flag Acrostic Craftivity is an entertaining and engaging literacy-based lesson that will lure students into the craft of a poem while showing their patriotism for our country. This craftivity can be displayed in the classroom or at home, and decorates any surface quite nicely.

This American Flag Acrostic Craftivity explores the meaning of independence, patriotism and freedom. The students are asked to take their thoughts and feelings, and express them in an acrostic poem pertaining to freedom. This activity not only asks the students to create a poem, but also has the students explore author’s craft and word choice to create a poem that consists of imagery and emotion.
