The Holiday Craftivity & Writing Templates Bundle includes the following activities:

*Martin Luther King Jr. Craftivity*

This 3D Craftivity is an entertaining and engaging literacy-based lesson that will lure students into exploring Martin Luther King, Jr., and his ideologies. This creativity can be displayed in the classroom or at home and decorates any surface quite nicely.

This Martin Luther King, Jr. 3D Craftivity explores vocabulary, defining, paraphrasing, close-reading, and pulling text-based evidence. This is aligned with the Common Core, but the best part is that it brings creativity into a Common Core activity.

This craftivity can be printed on construction paper, cardstock, or regular paper. If you want to take the coloring out of the activity, print the craftivity on colored cardstock paper or construction paper.

*Valentine’s Day Craftivity*

This 3D Craftivity is an entertaining and engaging literacy-based lesson that will lure students into the craft of a poet/singer. This craftivity can be displayed in the classroom or at home and decorates any surface quite nicely.

This Valentine’s Day 3D Craftivity explores the song, “Battlefield” by Jordin Sparks, and asks the students to find figurative language within the song, record the figurative language and explain the language using text-based evidence. This activity specifically focuses on similes, metaphors, idioms, and hyperboles. This is aligned with the Common Core and focuses on citing text-based evidence.

This craftivity can be printed on construction paper, cardstock, or regular paper. If you want to take the coloring out of the activity, print the craftivity on colored cardstock paper or construction paper.

*Back to School Activity*

This 3D Craftivity is an entertaining and engaging activity for your students during the first few weeks of school. Your students get to tell the teacher about themselves through social media templates. We know that our middle school and high school students are hooked on social media, so why not let them be creative with the interfaces? This craftivity can be displayed in the classroom or at home and decorates any surface quite nicely. This is also a perfect Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night display project!

This back-to-school craftivity asks the students to “tweet” an event from their summer in 140 characters with hashtags, write their favorite quote in a Facebook status, share their hobbies and family members in the Facebook template, include a picture of themselves and a description in Instagram, and share three songs titles that describe their life in an iTunes template!

*St. Patrick’s Day Craftivity*

This Craftivity is an entertaining and engaging literacy-based lesson that incorporates poetry, writing, word choice, and using poetry techniques to create a limerick.

At the higher elementary and middle levels, teaching students poetry and the different types of poetry helps students to analyze and write on a more creative and abstract level. This St. Patrick’s Day Craftivity is an activity that incorporates reading and writing limericks while working on rhyme, rhythm, and word choice. This engaging and entertaining activity will have your students thinking about leprechauns, pots of gold, and St. Patrick’s Day!

This craftivity allows the students to color and glitter their rainbow and pot of gold. Not only are they learning the fundamentals of poetry, but they are also using their creative outlet.

This will look great hanging on your classroom bulletin boards, in your school hallway, or on the student’s refrigerator.

This American Flag Craftivity explores the meaning of independence, patriotism, and freedom. The students are asked to take their thoughts and feelings, and express them in an acrostic poem pertaining to freedom. This activity not only asks the students to create a poem but also has the students explore the author’s craft and word choice to create a poem that consists of imagery and emotion.

This activity gives the students the opportunity to write about Dracula’s perspective of his life using the music from Taylor Swift’s song, “Bad Blood”. We all know the stereotypes of a vampire, but what if that is not really the story? Your students have the opportunity to explore this question, creating a song parody of Dracula’s real story.

This activity explores perspective, creative narrative writing, tone, and parody.

*Halloween Writing Prompts*

You can really use them at any point of the year, even though they are Halloween-based prompts, and they can be great for “I’m done! Now what?” moments.

*Christmas-Elf on the Shelf Creative/Narrative Writing*

Most of us are familiar with Elf on the Shelf. These cute, small elves sit on our shelves, watching over the children, and making sure that they are behaving. If the children are naughty, the elf reports back to Santa.

Every night these little elves move to a new place, and you cannot touch them, or they lose their power and cannot report back to Santa. What happens if one of these devious elves told you the story of their evening and took pictures of their naughty doings (Elfie Selfies)? Your students will have a ball with this writing assignment!
